My love for spearfishing started when I was just 8 years old, and it's an interest that has stayed with me, evolved, and even led me to compete at a national level. I've had the honor of placing 2nd in the world's largest spearfishing tournament, The St. Pete Open, a feat I'm incredibly proud of.

While anyone can go spearfishing in Maui (no special license required), I prefer the waters close to my home in Waiehu, located on the island's North Shore. This area is particularly abundant with fish and lobster, offering an oceanic bounty that's perfect for an underwater hunter like myself. It's like having a fully stocked grocery store right in my backyard, only fresher!

Once I slide into the ocean with my trusty Riffe speargun, it's only a matter of time before I return to shore, dinner in hand. I love the exhilaration of the hunt, but for me, the real joy is what comes next: cooking up a delicious meal for my family. There's nothing quite like grilling a fresh catch on the barbecue, filling the air with tantalizing aromas that have my wife, Chloe, and our two young sons, Cooper and Hudson, eagerly awaiting dinner.
